In one sentence

Korr does not collect, transmit or store personal data. Text corrected with Korr never leaves your device.

What Korr processes

When you ask for a correction, Korr reads the selected text or the content of the active text field. The bundled engines process it entirely inside your browser, then replace the original text with the result.

This processing is local and temporary. The text is not written to disk, stored in a database or transmitted to a server.

What is stored on your device

Korr uses your browser's local storage only to remember:

These settings stay on your device and disappear when Korr is uninstalled. They are never synchronised and never transmitted.

No transmission over the internet

Korr makes no request over the internet. There is no remote analysis server, no user account, no analytics service, no tracker, no advertising identifier and no telemetry.

You can check it yourself: after the first load, cut your connection. The correction keeps working, because nothing ever needed to leave your device.

The optional local connection

The only optional connection targets http://127.0.0.1:8787, which is your own computer and not the internet. It serves the optional AI rewriting styles, and only if you install and run that local service yourself.

The browser extension does not request this access when it is installed. It asks at the moment you choose an AI rewriting style, and you can refuse. Even then, the text never leaves your machine.

Access to websites

The browser extension declares no permanent access to your websites. It uses activeTab, which grants access to the tab you are working in, only at the moment you ask for a correction, and only for that tab.

The correction button is hidden by default. It appears only on the websites you enable yourself from the extension menu. Page content is never read unless you request a correction.

Your rights

Because no personal data is collected, there is nothing to access, correct or delete from our servers. Local settings disappear when you uninstall Korr.
